Job Description

Ohioans Home Healthcare is currently looking for a full time employee to work in our new and improved Medical Equipment and Supplies Department. The Medical Equipment and Supplies Coordinator is responsible for;

  • Building relationships with the nurses and patients assigned to their coverage area.
  • Order supplies (including; wound care, ostomy, urinary and respiratory) for patients.
  • Learning and understanding insurance allowable for supplies order for patients and communicating those allowable amounts with the care team.
  • Facilitate correct documentation for equipment (including; hospital beds, wheelchair, walker, oxygen, etc.) for patients and work with community DME pharmacies to order equipment timely.
  • Build relationships with community DME pharmacies and suppliers.
  • Keep our office supply room stocked for nursing needs.
  • Assist the Training and Education department with initial trunk stock supplies for nurse new hires.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent requires
  • Previous experience with DME and Medical Supplies preferred but not required
  • Ability to move and lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move and lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds up and down stairs.
  • Complies with acceptable professional standards of practice
  • Demonstrates excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to deal tactfully with patients, family members, community providers and insurance companies
  • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities
